Week 3

Project 1 – Idea

  1. What are the reasons for showing your visualization the way you are planning?

The choice to visualize the effect of water consumption on daily calorie intake and steps walked over a two-week period is deliberate for several reasons. Firstly, it’s an attempt to showcase a direct correlation between hydration and overall health. By juxtaposing water intake with calorie consumption and steps taken, it offers a tangible and relatable way for the audience to grasp the importance of staying adequately hydrated in their daily lives.

2. Are you taking in consideration something you heard in the talk to propose how your data will be embedded? Explain.

The idea is to not just present dry statistics but to tell a compelling narrative that resonates with the audience.  By visualizing the data in this way, I’m aligning with the thematic elements of the talk, creating a coherent and engaging narrative.

3. How do you think your visualization will be unique and will catch the attention of the audience? how they will get to know you a bit more through the physicalization?

The uniqueness of this visualization lies in its ability to convey a personal journey. By sharing my own data, the audience can relate on a more human level. They’ll witness not just the numbers but the results of how the whole body is affected by hydration. This personal touch adds authenticity and relatability to the presentation, allowing the audience to connect with me on a deeper level and potentially inspiring them to make similar positive changes in their lives. In essence, the physicalization of my data is a way to bridge the gap between data and human experience, making it more memorable and impactful.

The dimensions I will be using in my Project 1 are :

  1. What impact does water consumption have on Calories Intake
  2. What impact does water consumption have on Step Count
  3. What affect do calories intake and water consumption have on each other?
  4. How does hydration (more water intake) affect my energy levels
