VoiceThread is an asynchronous multimedia presentation and discussion tool that allows users to contribute “posts” around a central piece of content. VoiceThread uses voice recording, webcam recordings, annotation, and other features to encourage student engagement and exchange. For a brief overview of the tool, watch the video playlist at voicethred.com.
Teaching Scenarios
Use VoiceThread for the following scenarios:
- Pre-recording slides with narration — students will be able to leave questions and comments on your pre-recorded lectures.
- Have students create their own multimedia presentations — you and their classmates will also be able to engage in discussions centered around the media they create.
