The instruction is in-person, though students unable to get to campus or the classroom may attend remotely.
With the likelihood of some students requiring to attend your face-to-face class remotely there are several methods we currently support to help you achieve your goals. As with the mixed-mode format you may choose to utilize Zoom or Google Meet synchronous video so the student may see or hear the class. You may also choose to record your class for later access via recording video or audio by placing the file in a platform of your choosing, usually, this will be NYU LMS. To ensure adequate interaction between student and instructor/peers you may utilize a number of tools such as discussions, blogs, and social media (Google+ Communities for Learning, WeChat) to help remote students interact with the class, ask questions, collaborate, and socialize. The tools can also be used by your in-class students, as well as for peer-to-peer tasks or activities.
Aside from our support of instructional technologies to assist with the special circumstances brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, our tools and services may also be utilized in regular teaching projects and activities – e.g. for collaboration, interaction, and assessment. In fact, our tools are interchangeable in all circumstances. See the RITS website for more details.
