The intention of this project is to be a reimaged method of doing a traditional jigsaw puzzle, relying on the communication of the pair to correctly put the pieces. Only one can see the pieces and only one can move the pieces, this relates to the project from my research, ( Through Artificial Eyes – The inevitable cultural perspectives of NNs), in which the user provides a prompt and the AI responds with what it knows. The key here is the ability of two players to provide relevant prompts and information to get to the right place.
Down the Circular Road
Many people find themselves going down the YouTube or Wikipedia rabbit hole at 3 A.M. in the morning after following random path, but learning a lot and still going after many hours. The player is given a set time limit to go from one word to another, only similar to “Flick to Win” and Sisyphus – Construction, Deconstruction, Power and Resistance from my research, the results are random and the chances of winning are slim with the game working against you. The games goes to show how easily one person might end up being sidetracked or led down a path they did not intentionally choose.
Meaning?
Similar to communication apps designed for people with disabilities, this game will emulate their experience using such apps to communicate with others and demonstrate their limitations. As a multiplayer game, one user can draw a prompt and provide the other user(s) with a set of words relating to the prompt. These other users will then be given sentences or ideas to try and convey using only their limited set of words, exemplifying the restraints of communication systems, in a similar way to how the inaccuracies of AI seen in the Through Artificial Eyes – The inevitable cultural perspectives of NNs, communication or finding the desired response might prove difficult.
