I believe that all service activities will have an impact on my knowledge, skills, and attitude. Therefore, I think all service activities can be regarded as service-learning. Education, I believe, prompted me to apply the knowledge of the classroom to the real-life, learn to deal with practical problems, to provide active service for the community, the successful experience, and with the members of the community work experience, communication, greatly satisfy the need for belonging and respect, I formed my sense of social responsibility and the sense of belonging. Service-learning is a learner-centered learning process. In this process, I planned independently and actively tried to mobilize and enrich my knowledge and skills in various aspects. I can understand concepts and form my own conceptual system by solving practical problems and serving the community. This active learning experience makes classroom learning practical, arouses my learning enthusiasm, and helps me grow into an active learner. The accumulation of practical work experience will facilitate the study of general courses. In addition, in the service process, I have the opportunity to establish contacts with members of the community who are engaged in different industries, for example, I will interview and help others. In these processes, I can observe how the knowledge I have learned at school is related to various occupations, thus forming diversified career expectations and giving me a more realistic understanding of how to realize my dream. Service-learning can help me improve my ability to analyze complex tasks. In order to have a clear understanding of the problem, I looked up information independently, made indicators, and made decisions constantly. In the face of new problems, my system thinking, independence, and creativity can be effectively improved. Service-learning is an effective way of character education. The process of serving the community enables me to change from a passive consumer and receiver to an active community service provider. In the service, I learned to be responsible, honest and trustworthy, caring for others; Learn not to let those in need down, not to let others down; Most importantly, I have cultivated the spirit of service and formed a good habit or character of serving the society. Service-learning gave me the opportunity as a young person to work with adults to solve community problems and improve my quality of life. We faced challenges together, worked toward common goals, and I had meaningful conversations with adults to build trust and respect. They recognize that everyone has the knowledge, ability, and willingness to serve society. I learned to think calmly and objectively about social problems instead of simply attacking and denying reality. Learn to understand adult values and ways of doing things, rather than just being rebellious. Recognizing that young people are active and dynamic partners as opposed to negative, decadent, and non-traditional “new people”, adults increasingly recognize their place in community life. The realization of this kind of communication can promote the establishment of harmonious interpersonal relationships in the whole society. In the school, due to the extensive development of service-learning, the relationship between teachers and me is more rich, equal, and harmonious. Both teachers and I are encouraged, and the overall atmosphere of the school is more active and attractive. I choose to participate in service-learning because service must be real, it must meet the real needs of the school and the community; The results of the service should be seen and recognized by community members. Our service activities should be closely related to their courses, which can be extended, deepened, or actually applied to what has been learned or will be learned in class. This learning goal can include knowledge, skills, and attitudes, and must be appropriate to the stage of my development. Service-learning participants and stakeholders should understand and agree on the objectives of the activity in order to promote consistency of educational factors. Recognition of the services I provide helps to increase my sense of efficiency, so I’m willing to take the time to learn about services.
