EXAMPLES

Timelapse: A Walker in New York City

Produced by The New York Times, this time-lapse of a street median is meant to highlight the ‘walkers’ found in New York. Both the street art (portraying a man walking) and the pedestrians walking atop the median are given primary focus at the center.

REPHOTOGRAPHY: GHOSTS OF REIMS

Both of the examples above depict the overlay of contemporary locations and their historical significance. The emphasis on destruction and reconstruction is the primary focus of each photo reconstruction.

SHANGHAI LOCATIONS

She Shan Park

Considered the highest natural point within Shanghai city limits, She Shan Park would offer an interesting view of what remains of Shanghai’s natural landscape. Atop the mountain is a basilica, duly named ‘Sheshan Basilica’, where visitors to the park are allowed to roam around. The camera could possibly be place atop the bell tower where we could get a 360 view of the surrounding forrest.

East Nanjing Road

East Nanjing Road is a shopping strip frequented by many visitors each day. This would offer an interesting look into the consumer nature of Shanghai as well as give us a glimpse into the past with a comparison to the original strip of buildings that predated the modern neon lit experience it is now.
