Video project proposal (with Storyboard)- Clover, Jamie & Nan

Project Philosophy

People tend to believe that the development of things results from multiple factors, including environmental actors, subjective choice from an individual, etc. People may believe that the result of one thing in front of us is generated from all these factors in a reasonable way.

However, when too many factors are mixed up and intertwined with each other, how can we make sure that the result we see is led to by an integrative action from all the factors that we are aware of, rather than – a random result that can be led to regardless of what factors are influencing it?

Things, therefore, may develop in a random fashion, and the result may not be led to, as what people imagine, by the factors that they are aware of. Then, what is the power that is determining this seemingly random result?

Project Idea

An opening scene:

When water drops on one joint of your fist, the direction of where the droplet would go may also have to do with many factors, as you are aware of: the inclination of your fist, the roughness of your pore, or the orientations of your fine hair. However, do they actually making the final destination of the water drop different?

Next scene: CONFIDENTIAL

Project format

An interactive website where there is a storyline that the user can make decisions on their own, and different decisions lead to some result.

Video Project Idea — Thomas, Jannine & Val

For our project, we are interested in exploring a choose your own adventure type deal where the final outcome is a result of different choices made throughout the videos. The theme for our project is most likely going to be a film noir style murder mystery. Our project will consist of a series of videos where different clickable objects will change the course of the narrative. Ideally, I’d like to incorporate some sort of clickable buttons in the video, where instead of clicking shitty HTML buttons you click on items in the video to make decisions. I would also ideally like to add different video FX depending on which route the player is going.

Video Project Proposal – Val, Jannie, & Thomas

For our video project, we are planning to tell an interactive story through video clips that explores multiple endings. Although we haven’t decided on a definite concept yet, Jannie suggested that we tell a detective story that investigates a murder mystery. It would be the user’s task to identify the clues hidden in the videos and figure out who had committed the crime based on the evidence in the videos. We could possibly make this project interactive by giving the user control over the story, allowing them to choose their own path based on their assumptions.

Project Idea Demi, Laila and Jialu

Our video idea is interactive documentary/ report about Starbucks in China.
All 3 members of the team will be presenting and narrating the documentary/ report,
while addressing breaking the fourth wall and communicating with audience.
Website will also contain a command menu, which will provide all the sources/ work cited used for the video, turn on subtitles, and control over the video.

For the project we will be using Adobe Premiere pro, audacity/ garageband and aftereffect.
Atom is a given…

Most of the work will be filming and editing the video material, and later on making the website seamlessly switch to the right clip.
