AI Duet was created by Google Research Lab’s Itman Mann. Users can create a melody and have it completed by the computer.

Pros & Cons
This project offers a lot in terms of collaboration and inspiration for artists. However, it is severely limited to simple melodies. Additionally, the wait time given to users can either be too long or too short according to the inputed melody. It also can not adjust for musical dynamics and unexpected temp changes.
Relevance
This project gives a new layer to the creative process. Using this project artists can be given real-time suggestions or inspiration for their work.
While this project’s capabilities are quite simple they also pose a problem for any artistic machine learning projects. When the computer helps to create the work who is the true author? Does the artist need to site the model?
