Recitation 2 Documentation: Sarah Chung

Introduction

In this recitation we practiced building circuits with sensors using our Arduino kits.

Materials

From Arduino Kit:

1 * Arduino Uno
1 * USB A to B cable
1 * breadboard
1 * buzzer
2 * LEDs
2 * 220 ohm resistors
2 * 10K ohm resistors
2 * pushbuttons
A handful of jumper cables

From cart:

2 * arcade buttons
1 * Multimeter (optional)

Circuit 1: Fade

When building this circuit my partner and I did it correctly on the first try.Wr then altered the pre given code to change the delay time for the fading of the lights.

Circuit 2: Buzzer

For circuit 2 when building the circuit we didn’t run into any trouble. However we did forget that the buzzer was polarized so it didn’t work the first time we ran the code.We quickly caught onto our mistake and reassigned the right wires to the correct pins.

Circuit 3: Speed Game

This circuit was the most complicated of the three. Our first attempt , the right side (including the LED and the button) however the left side’s button didn’t work. After asking a T.A for help we realized the left side was not connected   to the 5V power source.

Reflections

Q1)

According to “Physical Computing”, the interaction of computer is thought of as a conversation, it requires an input and an output. It also requires processing and thinking as it is a two sided relationship.

Q2)

We used the 10K resistor to regulate the flow of current throughout the circuit.

Q3)

I would probably re-make a different famous pieces of artwork that change ever so often with all of the LEDs and hang it over my fireplace .
