1.How do aliens in the story language and communication style different from the human language (oral, pictographic, phonetic, etc.)?
First of all, the most significant difference with human beings is that each alien has no own name, which is very necessary for us to communicate. Second, they have their writing system. Third, the aliens’ thinking patterns, especially the order of words, are entirely reversed and illogical from our own.
2.How does the physical structure of our body inform the way we communicate? How about the aliens?
Our bodies are also entirely different from aliens, and we influence the way we communicate through our throats, vocal cords, and mouths. Sometimes body language is added when we can’t express ourselves. The aliens didn’t have throats, so they used sounds that human vocal cords couldn’t produce and that human ears couldn’t pick up. There’s no way we can tell what the aliens are saying by listening to it.
