Product Description

A responsive environment inspires by the functions and design of the washing machine. This is a physical realization of the Bernal sphere and O’Neill Cylinders. The space is able to spin around like the inner metal drum of the washer, which enables viewers to pick their desired habitat. Multiple platforms with sliding rails are installed to bypass the problem of gravity. This environment also provides dynamic weather options for viewers to choose and experience. Tiny holes encompass the drum, which allows water flow and airflow. Inspired by the washing and air dry function, rain can be simulated by pouring water on top, wind can be simulated by blowing air from the side. This space supports various mountings based on viewers’ own preferences, which includes natural typologies, small-scale architecture, furniture, or even LED lighting systems.
