A Light Tap

I look back, and it’s her!

Damn, she looks pretty.

She is wearing a casual light orange tank top and a pair of checked pants. Above all else, there is a big smile on her face, simple and pure as usual. She is my angel.

“I knew it was you! ! How long have you been waiting? I am so sorry I was sucked inside the traffic…”

My heart is pudding, but my brain stops functioning. My mind is at the emptiest state it can possibly be. My nature overcomes my courage to face her.

I can’t even come up with a full line of response. My face is burning like a boiling hotpot, and my cheek is as red as a clown’s nose.

I hand over the carefully wrapped portrait.

I hesitate, “This is for you…”
“Happy Birthday!” I add.

I realize this is probably the time for me to confess, but I chicken out at the last minute.
