Photo Diptych Concept
For my photo diptych concept, I want to convey a blossoming, a beginning, a blooming, of something immensely valuable to any individual.
One image cannot exist with another, the entire premise of a photo diptych presentation. With my project, I want to relate the beginning of friendship to the blossoming of a flower or the blooming of a tree. Additionally, I wanted to incorporate a phrase I once stumbled across, “Flowers that are given out of friendship last longer than flowers given out of apologies” to truly create a conjunction of images that appeals to our innate nature as human beings and our necessity to be sociable creatures filled with life.
As you can see from the pictures presented in my Contact Sheet, I shot sights that I found intriguing and captivating as my friends and I took a nice stroll through the Shanghai Botanical Garden. I then selected images that reminded me of what I wanted to convey and present to my viewers with visuals that are captured in a natural environment yet taken with intention and purpose.
When it comes to manipulating my images in Photoshop, I am still not sure what image I will only slightly touch up and which one I would want to compose entirely or change majorly to create a completely new image. I could take a lot of creative liberty with the project and want to explore some ideas for a bit before settling down on my final concept. As of right now, I am considering only slightly touching up shots of people in the park and manipulating images in photoshop to create an interesting display of flowers and a collection of blooming petals.
