Memory Soundscape Project Concept

I vividly remember the weeks that led up to my last day in my hometown before leaving for college. Graduation, goodbyes, and good lucks filled my schedule while nostalgia, tenderness, and fear filled my heart. I warmly embraced what reminded me of home and curiously stepped into the world of something that seemed so distant for so long. I was about to embark on a journey that would take me 13,789 kilometers away from my birthplace and allow me to grow into a completely new person, or rather, a version of myself that I hadn’t been permitted to be. The cusp of my future was in front of me, I just needed to seize it.

I want to capture this feeling of transition, leaving everything I knew behind, and venturing into the unknown. I will attempt to recreate or emulate certain sounds that I associate with my journey from Guatemala to Shanghai, such as the packing of luggage or the liftoff of a plane. Additionally, I want to emphasize a serene ambiance with the sounds of cars on an empty road or wind rustling the leaves.
