Gwen Goins – Ambient Readings

For this assignment I used an Arduino nano with a temperature sensor. I placed the sensor on my apartment windowsill, and data was captured every five minutes for approximately 1 hour and logged directly to the serial monitor before being exported as a CSV file. I expected consistent readings. Instead, the temperature dipped when I opened the window as well as other fluctuations that weren’t visible to me in real time but caught by the sensor. The sensor also caught a lot of the noise which manifested as spikes or drops. These are some of the values:
