Isabella Rivers is a student in the Master of Public Health program (Global Health concentration) at the NYU School of Global Public Health. Initially working as a health and foreign NGO consultant in Beijing, China, Isabella later became increasingly aware of the public health disparities in the communities around her.
Her exposure to public health issues in China inspired Isabella to pursue formal education in the field, she was especially inspired by the efforts of influential public health figures such as Dr. Margert Chan, who was the Director-General of the World Health Organization during the SARS outbreak at the time.
She now focuses on public health on a global level to ensure the rehabilitation and recovery of vulnerable communities post-disasters.
