Haiti’s Natural and Man-Made Disasters

Haiti, already recovering from severe coronavirus outbreaks and a recent presidential assassination, was struck by Tropical Depression Grace on August 14, 2021.

Due to the effects of climate change, and the country’s already conflicting position on top of two major fault zones, Haiti has an increased vulnerability to tropical storms. A weak Haitian government has already discouraged their efforts to combat the efforts of natural and man-made disasters.
