Dr. Tanya Green

Dr. Tanya Green has extensive working and policymaking experience from Jamaica where she was a physician.  She believes in the success of population health and primary prevention measures would help solve many health issues.

Her interest in emergency preparedness and response was sparked from the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, where she saw that there was a lack of leadership, which impacted the recovery and response operations after the event. Since Jamaica is susceptible to natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes and she saw firsthand the challenges associated with international aid efforts, there is an urgent need to improve emergency preparation and response in large-scale crises.

After her certificate in disaster science and policy, Dr. Green wants to pursue a career in public health with a focus on planning and preparedness.
