This cross-sectional study focuses on how the public’s knowledge and behavioral practices differed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a Qualtrics survey that assessed respondents’ experiences and attitudes about COVID-19, the team found that public concern over COVID-19 and future pandemics remains high, and recommends utilizing strong public health initiatives to enhance the government’s pandemic preparedness.

Introduction: This Emergency Operations Plan was created to provide guidance on responding to mass shootings in Paris, France. Although mass shootings are not nearly as common in France as they are in the United States, they are not infrequent either. More recently, mass shootings in France –– particularly those occurring in Paris –– have been tied to terrorism. In the event of an active shooter incident or any other connected emergency or disaster that could affect the country or any of its residents, Services d’Aide Médicale Urgente (SAMU) is required to respond and take action. In some cases, this response requires joint efforts between fire and rescue services as well.
Susan Nagel’s Case Study on Tuberculosis in Alabama
From 2014-2016, an unprecedented tuberculosis outbreak occurred in Marion County in Alabama, resulting in an incident rate worse than experienced in many low and middle-income countries. The case study concludes that structural racism in healthcare settings must be addressed to prevent similar outbreaks from occurring in the future.
