126,000 gallon pipeline oil spill off coast of Southern California and into the Pacific Ocean

Although 126,000 gallons of oil pales in comparison to the Deepwater Horizon and Exxon Valdez oil spills, the potential harm to humans and the environment is still substantial. The Orange County health officials have issued a warning to avoid recreational water activities, have closed public beaches, and advise people exposed to seek medical attention.
