NYU’s School of Global Public Health offers an advanced certificate in public health disaster science, policy and practice to all professionals who are interested in the field. Current students can apply in conjunction with the Master of Public Health, Doctorate of Public Health, or PhD program. The certificate builds on the following skills:
- Leadership, management and decision making.
- Communication, coordination and community engagement.
- Evaluating and designing preparedness, response and recovery interventions.
- Research and development.
- Agent-based modeling techniques to critically analyze the design of disaster preparedness, response and recovery systems.
- Networking with public health professionals, mentors and scholars.
