In India, discussions around mental health remain stigmatized despite its high human and economic cost. Healthcare workers in India are at a higher risk for mental health problems due to the physical and emotional demands of their profession.
To address the challenges of disease prevention and control at the population level, the group created a disaster plan to address the specific challenges faced by India in improving the mental health of healthcare workers. The plan includes a summary of the situation in India, a base plan, a Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA), and a training plan.
