October 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Simons Center shall sponsor the fall quarterly meet-up of the New York Area Group for Informatics and Modeling (NYAGIM).

The featured speaker is Richard Whitcomb,  Chief Technology Officer at Osmo, where his work focuses on leveraging large virtual libraries to discover novel fragrance and insect control molecules. Osmo aims to develop computational methods that explore vast chemical spaces, with the long-term goal of bringing the sense of smell to computers and enabling software to interact seamlessly with the chemical world around us.  His talk is entitled:

Bringing ML Driven Drug Discovery to the Fragrance Industry

Lecture is from 6 – 7pm in Silver Center, room 405, followed by networking from 7 – 8pm.

Registration is required by Sep 29.  Visit the  NYAGIM Events page to register.

NYAGIM is a community of greater New York City area scientists focused on the advances of in silico methods related to drug discovery, and how they increasingly impact and transform pharmaceutical research.

Their scientific interest covers a wide range of fields, including computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemoinformatics, machine learning, molecular modeling, structural biology and protein design to cite a few.
