Python Programming Workshop

NYU logoIn collaboration with the Molecular Sciences Software Institute (MolSSI), the Simons Center presents this introductory, scientific programming workshop designed for those who are interested in using computational tools in science instruction and research. This workshop focuses on building practical programming skills, and NO prior programming experience is required. While primarily targeted toward students, faculty are welcome to join as well!

This workshop is SOLD OUT.  

The workshop takes place in-person in the Room 120, Silver Center for Arts and Science, 32 Waverly Place, New York (note, this is a room change).  Participants must bring their own laptop and charger in order to participate in the hands-on exercises. The workshop starts promptly at 9:00am (plan to arrive by 8:30) and will cover these topics:

  • Reading and writing files
  • File manipulation and parsing
  • Analyzing and graphing data

Snacks and lunch are provided.  There is no cost for this workshop.  Registration is limited and is first-come, first-served.  Please, only register if you genuinely plan to be there!  

Visitors should register no later than 5 business days prior to the workshop to allow time for access approval.

The Molecular Sciences Software Institute (MolSSI) is an NSF-funded institute whose goals are to improve software, education, and training in the computational molecular sciences
