Meet the SAMM Team!
Junlin Zhu 朱俊林 (he/him), President, was born and raised in Mianyang, China, and currently lives in Jersey City. Junlin loves exploring the city and people watching in Washington Square Park (and at times, spotting various celebrities hanging out near NYU).
Rosalie Wells (she/her), Vice President, grew up in London and currently lives in Brooklyn. Rosalie loves the range of topics and methodologies that you can dive into at MCC, and can often be found spending too much money on food in the West Village.
Arel Sinett (he/him), Treasurer, hails from beautiful, sunny, geriatric Boca Raton, FL. Currently residing in Do-or-Die Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, Arel loves writing papers in his home away from home, Greene Building’s 8th Floor, and seeing free and discounted Broadway shows through NYU’s ScholasTIX program.
Kelly Sand (she/her), Secretary, is from Connecticut and lives near the East Village. Kelly loves filling her Albert course registration shopping cart with every unique and exciting MCC class she can find while seeking out the best places to work on campus (preferably study spots where you can see lots of dogs walk by on the street)!
Ashley Chenery (she/her), Communications Coordinator, is from Stony Brook, NY and is currently living in East Harlem. She’s beyond grateful for her kind-hearted friends, challenging interlocutors, and encouraging professors at MCC!
Hadiqa Shahid (she/her), Events Coordinator, is from and currently lives in New Jersey. Her favorite thing about MCC is getting to learn from such knowledgeable and experienced professors. On the weekends, you can catch her exploring new bookshops near NYU!
Spencer Kim (he/him), Events Coordinator, grew up in Southern California and is currently living in Jersey City. He loves learning new recipes and cooking techniques and enjoys watching baseball, especially the Dodgers. Give him cheap food recs in the city!
Nidanrui Zhu (she/her), International Student Representative, was born and raised in Chengdu, China, and currently lives near Hell’s Kitchen. Nidanrui loves pursuing every MCC Newsletter and has met many interesting and kind friends at MCC-organized events. Sometimes, she can be found in NYU’s free yoga class!
Lucie Conjeaud (she/her), First Year Representative, was born and raised in NYC. Lucie is super happy to be back home (and reunited with her dog) after spending her undergrad years outside of the country. Attending NYU has always been a childhood dream, and the MCC MA program has already proven to be worth the hype. Also…if you are looking for local recs you can usually find her on the 7th floor of the East Building.
