Yicheng Pu is currently a second-year Master’s student in Data Science at the NYU Center for Data Science. He is conducting research on applying Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques to build a news recommendation system, coordinated with an AI Fintech company. His most recent academic interests have focused on Natural Language Processing, and he has also worked for a consulting firm and a hedge fund to provide assistance in information retrieval from text data, using advanced machine learning and deep learning models.
He graduated with a B.S. degree double major in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2017. During his degree, he contributed to research in topology and road traffic optimization, working on the project “Traffic Patterns in Manhattan“.
