David Mordecai was a speaker at Day Pitney’s Family Office Forum

David K.A. Mordecai, Co-Managing Member of Numerati® Partners was invited to speak at Day Pitney’s invitation-only Day-Ahead Family Office Forum on March 15th 2018, which preceded the 2018 Family Office Association Symposium on March 16th 2018 in Palm Beach, FL. Dr. Mordecai also leads research activities at RiskEcon Lab.

The theme for the 2018 Forum was Protecting Your Family and Wealth in the Global Digital Economy: A Forum Exploring Security Risks and Investment Opportunities. The conference provided an in-depth discussion of practical steps for safeguarding family members and their assets and cybersecurity best practices for families and their businesses as well as investment risks, opportunities and trends in cybersecurity, data analytics and blockchain.

Dr. Mordecai spoke on a panel entitled Securing Your Investments in Emerging Technologies and focused his comments on commercialization of use-case applications in RiskTech domains, e.g. remote sensing and cyber defense embedded systems. The panel was moderated by David Waizer, Partner in the Private Equity and Venture Capital practice at Day PitneyHis fellow panelists were the following:

    • Marc Bell, Founder and CEO of Marc Bell Capital, who spoke about his portfolio company Terran Orbital, a global leader in nanosatellite technology,

    • Michael Janke, co-founder of DataTribe, a Maryland-based cybersecurity startup studio with a San Francisco office
