Q1:How do aliens in the story using language and communication style different from the human language ?

α     oral

1. Their vocal communication method, Heptapod A, seems unrelated to their written language 

β     phonetic:The voice of Heptapod sounded vaguely like that of a wet dog shaking the water out of its fur.

γ     pictographic and written language:

1. The words looked more like a bunch of intricate graphic designs. The logograms weren’t arranged in rows, or a spiral, or any linear fashion.

2. inflection system and case markerindicating compared with human writing

3.In Heptapod B The language had no written punctuation: Its syntax was indicated in the way the semagrams were combined, and there was no need to indicate the cadence of speech.

4.The heptapod  know how the entire sentence will be laid out before it can write the very first stroke.

Meaning: For the heptapods, writing and speech may play such different cultural or cognitive roles that using separate languages makes more sense than using different forms of the same one.

 

 

Q2:How does the physical structure of our body inform the way we communicate? How about the aliens?

facial expression, body language, language,  writing   (human)
