The three switches in parallel and series exercise was a good segue into the switch assignment. The three switches in series provides the structure for a simple idea such as a series of tasks that one needs to complete in order for something to open/happen. I can imagine this mechanic being used in a variety of interactive ways. Furthermore, the addition of the motor component expanded the possibility for what I can create with just a simple circuit and breadboard.
For my own creative switch, I decided to use conductive copper tapes attached to two cardboard hands to create an electrifying interaction. When the hands clap, the circuit is complete and the LEDS light up. An added bonus is when you rub the hands together, you get a dimming effect on the LEDs that is equivalent to turning a knob. Having completed the previous lab exercises, creating the clapping hands was quite easy and I understood that replacing any wire in the circuit with the two hands will create a “switch” effect.
