I am a Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at NYU Shanghai and a Global Network Professor at NYU. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, I was an Associate Professor of Psychology at The University of Hong Kong. I obtained a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from Brown University (Providence, RI, US), and a BS in Psychology from Peking University (Beijing, China). After a postdoctoral fellowship at the Schepens Eye Research Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, US), I worked as a senior research associate in the Human Systems Integration Division at NASA Ames Research Center (Moffett Field, CA, US) before I moved back to Asia. I serve as Associate Editor for Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews (Elsevier), Action Editor for eNeuro (Society for Neuroscience), and Subject Editor for Displays (Elsevier).

I received my M.Sc. degree in Psychology from Peking University and a Ph.D. degree in Cognitive Psychology from The University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining the Neuroscience Program at NYU Shanghai, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at The University of Hong Kong. My research interests include human perception and control of self-motion, visuomotor control, and virtual reality. At NYU Shanghai, I work with my supervisor, Professor Li Li, and conduct research on healthy adults and neurodegenerative patients (patients with Parkinson’s disease).

I got my B.S. degree in psychology from China University of Political Science and Law, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in the lab. My current research focuses on the integration of form and motion cues in the human brain. In the lab, I have gained valuable experience with rigorous psychophysical methods and functional MRI techniques. These have helped me develop strong scientific thinking and logical reasoning skills.
