Setting Delegations

The purpose of this tip sheet is to help you Delegate your Inbox in PeopleSync to other employees to perform tasks on your behalf. Tasks and approvals can be delegated to subordinates, supervisors or peers in your supervisory organization hierarchy if you are out of the office or need assistance completing your assigned tasks.

Note that if you delegate to someone who is restricted from performing the task or step of a business process – for example, approving a compensation change for yourself – the transaction will route to the Alternate Delegate instead.

Add Delegation

  1. Click the Inbox icon in the top menu bar.
  2. Click on the View Inbox link.
  3. The Inbox page is displayed. Select My Delegations from the Settings menu represented with a small gear icon.
  4. Click Manage Delegations.
  5. The Manage Delegations page displays. Complete the necessary fields with the new delegation information. Use the calendar icon to input the begin and end dates for the delegation.
  6. Click the dialogue box icon to select the name of your delegate. Delegates are sorted by peers and superiors in your organization.
    • You can select more than one delegate if necessary.
  7. Select to delegate All Business Processes or For Business Process.
    • If delegating specific business processes, use the dialogue box icon to select the specific processes to delegate.
    • You may also select to retain access to any delegated tasks so that they will still be available in your PeopleSync Inbox.
  8. Click Submit.

Manage Delegations

  1. lick the Inbox icon in the top menu bar.
  2. Click on the View Inbox link.
  3. The Inbox page is displayed. Select My Delegations from the Settings menu represented with a small gear icon.
  4. Click Manage Delegations.
  5. The Manage Delegations page displays. Here, you may edit existing delegation settings by changing the begin/end dates, delegate, and/or Business Process to Delegate.
  6. To end a current delegation, click the minus (-) icon.
  7. Click Submit.

PeopleLink team members and those with HR roles can add or manage delegations on behalf of other workers they support.  When setting these delegations, you are not limited to only peers or subordinates, and so if an employee needs to delegate to someone other than one of their peers or subordinates, these folks would be able to assist.

In order to set up delegations on behalf of another, search for the task Manage Delegation Settings or find the task from the worker’s profile under Actions > Business Process > Manage Delegation Settings.  The steps above for entering the information and setting up the delegation is identical when setting up delegations for another person.
