There are two types of Staffing Models in PeopleSync: Position Management and Job Management.
Position Management
In this model, the position is created, budgeted, and approved prior to recruitment. It includes the job description and qualifications as well as a planned salary, budget, and costing allocations. A job requisition is required to open the position and post the position prior to hire.
This staffing model applies to:
- Full-Time Faculty
- Administrative/Professional
- Staff
We use applicant tracking systems (ATS) in position management which communicate with PeopleSync through daily integrations to support the job posting and hiring process.
- Administrative/Professionals and Staff: For these employee categories, JDX is used to initiate the Create Position transaction and maintain job descriptions. iCIMS is used to post the position and store applicant information.
- For Full-Time Faculty: For this employee category, Interfolio is used to post the position and store applicant information.
Job Management
In this model, there are no job creation or job requisition steps that occur in PeopleSync. This applies to:
- Professional Researchers
- Post Doctoral Fellow
- Adjuncts
- Students
- Additional Compensation
Staffing Model and Supervisory Organizations
A supervisory organization (sup org) is assigned to one of the staffing model types, not both. Therefore the employees or positions in the supervisory org must be position OR job management.
Examples:
French Literature (FT Faculty) (WS2000) is a sup org assigned to position management staffing model.Program Development (Students) (WS2003) is a sup org assigned to job management staffing model.
On the sup org’s page click on the Details tab. This will display the staffing model.
