Assistive Technology: Learning and Participation in the School was a course that sparked my interest in website accessibility. For my final presentation, I provided a handout for the class to refer to when working with clients. With the knowledge learned of adaptive fashion and web accessibility, I then reached out to varying occupational therapy-related organizations. I was delighted to find out that The OT Practice Magazine, an occupational therapy magazine based in the United Kingdom, accepted my article for publication. Furthermore, my paper on the ability of occupational therapy students to advocate for adaptive apparel for their clients was accepted by the AOTA Student eNewsletter. This was particularly meaningful to me because I too was a Fieldwork Level II occupational therapy student searching for a niche area of assistive technology. The final copy is seen at the bottom of the page and is expected to be published in December 2020.
