What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters is an educational organization with an international network of clubs that help people become confident communicators.  At our club, are committed to helping the NYU community improve their communication and leadership skills in a supportive environment. NYU Toastmasters is a unique opportunity at the university to join a volunteer-led group that includes administrators, faculty, students, and alumni across all NYU units and campuses.

By participating in Toastmasters, you have the opportunity to:

  • Improve your public speaking
  • Gain self-confidence
  • Practice writing speeches and presenting in a group setting
  • Take on leadership roles
  • Network with peers
  • Demonstrate leadership experience to employers
  • Provide an invaluable service to the NYU community

The Toastmasters Experience

At Toastmasters meetings, you get to practice your leadership, speaking, and evaluation skills. Outside of Toastmasters meetings, you can continue your personal development journey by taking advantage of their unique learning management system to choose your desired learning “path”, where you can take lessons, get the speech assignments and track your progress

Meeting Schedule

Summer 2024 Meetings

  • Originally, we planned to meet over the summer, but we were not able to pull things together.  We are sorry for any confusion.
  • Fall meeting schedule will be determined at the end of August, and it looks like they will continue to be held twice a month on Wednesdays, one around lunch time, and the other about 5:15 in the evening.

Note: You must be a member of the NYU community (admin, staff, faculty, students, alum) to register
