Brief description:
As known to all, with our cities being more and more crowded, their ability to provide appropriate accomodation to stray animals is also decreasing rapidly. And the threat from humans and other stray animals also largely threathen their life, resulting a short lifespan and lack of hygienic food. However, their life isn’t all about bitterness but also encompasses companion and partnership with each other. In this role play game, player can control our main character—who is a cat, to wander around the city and search for food to survive in the harsh environment. Be careful, you may also encounter enemies—then run as fast as you can! We can predict their life will be improved in the future as human steps into a more civilized state and probably has some forms of rights in law, but at least their life is miserable today and really worth our intervention and attention to create a more suitable living environment for them. So I believe it’s educational and meaningful to give people from the future generations a rough picture about what stray cats’ life is like in our current day, as it’s always essential to know what yesterday is like.
Concept behind this project:
The main viewing angle would be like the picture shown below, which will be employed when no special events occur and player can interact with some items in the street. However, when player click some items in the street or encounter enemies, the view will zoom in and trigger some small games. For example, if a player click a piano, then the view will switch to another page of music game (or jump to another website if technique allows) and after playing it, he will get the corresponding scores and he can use the score to buy items in the shops beside the street (which is clickable as well). And if he encounters an enemy, then it will turn to first-person perspective and the cat need to turn left or turn right to avoid obstacles. The player will be awarded if he successfully throw off the enemy and die if he runs into obstacles. To make it more appealing, I also plan to introduce weather system and day-night system into this game, which will also add some specific events and affect the cat’s attribute.
