Our topic: Movie
It must be strange for the heptapods that we human beings will waste so much time watching something fictional and often rational and still make the exclamation that doing so can lengthen our life. How peculiar! However, Amelia and I have the ambition of not only explaining the reason behind humans watching films but also demonstrating particular knowledge about the movie. In the end, we shall change the movie into something the heptapods can also admire.
The Movie System now: The most common projection technologies available to us are 2D, 3D, sometimes adding scent, motion, etc. to constitute 4D, or using IMAX technology to increase people’s immersive experience. However, all of these are what people can observe with their naked eyes or wearing glasses with flat vision.
How can we demonstrate it?

As for the feeling of movement in the movie, it is because of the visual Phi phenomenon, which gives the illusion of movement to a series of static pictures.
The special nature of the alien’s body structure determines that they will not only observe flat things, so we hope to break up the film in accordance with frame by frame and different elements around, so that the aliens will be able to enjoy different images and objects at the same time.
When thinking about the reason why human watches movie, we first think of it as an easy task. However, then Amelia realized that to get the answer to it, we need to figure out why people need stories. Throughout our life, we would learn all sorts of stories. First through the mouth of our parents, then the drawings, followed by the books, and finally, the movie. It is almost a lifelong education.
But why do we need it?
One explanation is, the movie is explainable which is the quality we desperately need. Every movie has an ending and every ending has a reason. That reason is what we lack in our mundane life. Our life is unpredictable and often lacks explanation. You do not know why that girl rejects you or why your boss is so angry today. However, the nature of humans wants an explanation for everything as is said in the novel. So to make up for real life, we dive into the fantasy world where everything has a reason and a result.
Another explanation is that movie also isn’t explainable. You never know what will happen next when you first see one movie, just like life. But aren’t people already tired of being out of order in life? Well, that’s where the beauty lies. When you think about it, the whole nature of humans makes us extremely organized and pursue cause and effect. But those things that actually are the focus of our life do not have those characteristics. Such as love, such as sympathy. And those unexplainable characters are always the main theme of most movies.
So in movies, we can see both the nature of humans and the glamour of humans. We are restrained and not as free as the heptapods mentally, but we still aren’t satisfied with our current position and strive hard to break our boundaries. Through the art form of film, and the unique construction of our story, we hope to convey to alien our thoughts.
