1.The Veldt

The virtual reality module:when we go into this module, we can type in where we want to go and put on the helmet. This place has to be specific, and when we’re done, the cabin will use light and shadow equipment to create a three-dimensional display. There is a return button, when we press the return button, we can go back to the origin. It’s like an upgraded version of VR goggles combined with a light and shadow device, but more realistic because we can be in a physical three-dimensional space without wearing glasses. There are do several confusing problems. For example, now the machine can precisely detect the places we want to go and translates them into our commands. But how do it pinpoint them into a vivid place requires a very sophisticated algorithm. Thus, in the early stage, we need to do a lot of research on pictures, videos and texts, convert them into algorithms and input them into this cabin. But that still doesn’t guarantee that we can reach every corner of the world.

  1. The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

Emotion record playback instrument: We can use virtual devices to record specific moments, recording each segment as a tape for easy storage. When we want to feel again, we can wear the communicator, not only can we feel the happy, sad or exciting scene at that time, but also can let us experience the original mood and feelings again, rather than simply looking back at the picture. It also needs a variety of chemical ingredients stored in the projector, which it can mix them when we need to reproduce certain odors. This device is similar to a recording device, but with more details such as feelings and smells, it can make our instant emotions more authentic. Difficulties:it is hard for the machine to record exact feelings and emotions, even though we are humans, it’s complex for us to relate to others. So this is the biggest problem.

  1. The Plague 

Automatic bath and disinfection machine:in the first layer it will use water to wash away the physical impurities(with the help of soup shampoo). And then it will make a disinfection, such as ultraviolet sterilization. It’s similar to a shower sprinkler, but it’s much smarter and helps us clean the skin we can’t touch, like our backs. The technical difficulties are as follows: ultraviolet light is usually harmful to the human body, and how to achieve both sterilization and filtration of harmful light sources is one of the difficulties. Second, human skin is soft and fragile, while machines are mostly rough and clumsy, how can machines help us clean without hurt us is also remain unknown. In addition, the instrument also needs to be waterproof to prevent short circuits.
