In the year 2122, I will have been long gone. However, I would want the memories of when I was alive to live on forever, to sustain my legacy in this world. Even now, I want to be able to relive my memories as a child. Therefore, I would want the tenement museum of my home to be embedded with things from my childhood, including my memories.
To do this, I want to implement a holographic system, or even an immersive teleportation experience. There are two ways I can go about this.
One way would involve interactive furnitures to transport you into my memories. One example of this would be if one sat on my piano bench, they would be able to hear me playing the piano and the sounds of my mom cooking in the kitchen farther away. I want to incorporate a surround sound system to make this experience seem as realistic as possible. Another interaction can involve a pen on the table, where if someone picks it up they can see me writing my homework with that pen on the table 100 years ago.
The second way would be an immersive experience, where I would want to be able to time travel to different periods of my life in the house and allow people to see how I lived during that phase. This would serve as an overview and essentially a “time-lapse” of my life. For example, one would be able to see that when I was a child, both the decorations and the color of my wall itself is different from when I was in high school. One can also see the state of my room during the lockdown when they travel to 2020, in which my room was completely different from what it had been before the lockdown. There will either be captions on the objects themselves, or they can be toggled on by the glasses to see what those objects are (incase they don’t exist in the future) and what its relationship to me was. For example, I have many photos in my room, and would want people to understand the significance of those photos.
The way the I want these features to be implemented is using a pair of googles that can toggle on memories and have functions that fast forward through different points in my life.
The default house itself would just be the way I left it when I moved out. One would be able to see the guitar that I played on a rack, my golf clubs put to the side, and people will even be able to use them as a way to connect with who I once was. However, with a simple toggle in the glasses, one would be able to see those items disappear and new ones appear based on the time period. Those items will also be physical and can be interacted with. They will also hold memory capsules that can be watched or experienced.
Using this museum, one should be able to see not only how I lived as a child, but they will also be able to use my memories to see how I got to where I am today.
