My overall concept for the Diptych is a cigarette being used when it’s lit, and a cigarette when it’s unlit.
The two images emphasize the idea that one cannot exist without the other. In order for a cigarette to be used, it has to be lit. Otherwise, it is useless. The two images demonstrate the cause and effect relationship that in order for the final result to ensue, something must occur
I hope to create the photo with images of different electronic smoking devices to provide a contrast to the traditional idea of smoking. I also want to manipulate the photos using Photoshop by shaping the outline of the cigarette using the images.
