Step 1:
In step 1, I took the job of student A. I followed the instructions on the recitation guideline and I successfully made the models using laser cutting.
My partner Vicky and I completed the design of the base first. Vicky had some issues with setting the default units and I helped her out. She has used the site before and knows how to use it, so I ask her a lot of questions that I don’t understand. After the base was designed, we started to draw the fan blades. It took me a while to figure out how to use the drawing tools, but in the end it all worked out. We both made terrific designs, for it was all completed in a short period of time.
Step 2:
After drawing, we uploaded the files into the google drive and then went to the fabrication lab. There, Andy helped us laser cut the components we designed for our artifact. One thing to notice was that the board had to be carefully treated after being printed, otherwise it would break like what happened to my partner, Vicky’s design, for it was too fragile.
Step 3:
It is quite a pity that we did not complete the step 3 in the end due the time limitation. We tried to get together later but we both had time conflicts. I think we will both apply what we learned in this recitation to our final projects and further studies.
