For this assignment, I picked the starter, player, projector, and viewer out first. Then I chose two videos that I felt could be connected perfectly. One is the butterfly video in the folder of the last class, the other one was shot by me during my trip to Xinjiang this summer. It’s a girl dancing in a very typical Uyghur style (she was turning around and around). The flying butterflies are similar to the girl’s nimble dance. They are both gentle and beautiful.
I applied a rotator, zoomer, and scrambler to the dance video. To make the video more changeable, I used an attractor to rotator for generating variable values by applying a certain equation. For the butterflies, I used solarizer with an attractor controlling its value to change the butterflies’ color. I also used hustler for color adjustment. Then I used a pincher to change the butterflies’ shapes. Next, to connect the two, I used the mixfader. And after the mixfader I tried the 3patternjoiner to adjust the RGB color of the mix. I noticed that the brightness of my video was not so good so I found a BRCOSR for adjusting the brightness, contrast and situation. Below is the link to the patch and the screen grab.
