Concept | Storyline:
1). The poem for the narrative voice over
We chose You were still by my side as our audio text. It’s a poem written by Chang Dai.
2). About the story
The poem mainly tells a story about a child recalling the memory of growing up with mom’s love while he is studying far away from his mom now.
3). Focus of the story
We’ll probably focus on what the author intends to make his readers feel when reading the poem, for example, missing the time staying with mom badly and arousing people’s regret on not spending enough time with their parents when they’re alive.
4). Style/aesthetics
We’re going to shoot the videos and edit the storyline to turn back the clock since the poem tells memory in the past.
Execution Plan:
1). Equipment
Cell phone, sound recorder, stabilizer, etc.
2). 3 W
Where: Kitchen, room, roads.
When: Day time/night
Why: We want to try different lighting and create the atmosphere of warm memories of being with mom back home by shooting videos in the daytime and at night.
3). Process
Challenge: Props, camera angles, light, resolution.
Preparation: Check out the stabilizer, ask help from fellows, use lighting equipment and try out different camera angles.
