After reading the article, I realize that the truth lies in the expression which can make you feel the emotions in different situations. But in Close up the pixels are very low and this adds to the fiction and uncertainty of images. As the audience can feel emotions from images with low resolution, someone can make fictional images which aren’t pictures of the real thing to represent the reality or truth. This could easily mislead the audience to imagine the truth with fiction by constructing a specific situation and telling them limited information. In this sense authencity may fail to be taken seriously.
However, authenticity is so important for public media as the information spreads so fast that it can take on a global significance within a matter of days. Lack of authenticity and representation could lead to disbelief in a certain media company and serious consequences. Public is a strong power and sometimes this power may be misused because of the lack of authenticity and representation in social media. Enough evidence for the truth is needed in social media. Live broadcasts become more and more popular because they add to the authenticity. A live broadcast can represent truth in an immediate and direct way. It’s significant in getting the audience’s trust that what the media says is exactly the truth.
