The Diptych project revolves around the fundamental concept of connection between two images. The first image I captured portrays a dimly lit lamp casting a soft light on an entire wall, predominantly composed of cool colors. Conversely, the second image features a Drunk Baker bag and two cups on a countertop. The focal point of this image is the bag and the cups, with the surrounding area shrouded in darkness. This pair of images intends to create a harmonious conversation where the lamp in the first image serves as a symbolic source of illumination, bringing to light the entangled details and narrative within the second image. They work in unison to convey a visual story, highlighting the interplay of light and subject matter to create a sense of intrigue for the viewer. Regarding post-processing using Abode Photoshop, I plan to refine the contrast and color balance in both images to accentuate the visual connection between them, enhancing the narrative’s impact. To expand on this concept, I plan to capture more images of various lamps and a collage board to construct a greater storyline. In Photoshop, my approach involves outlining the separate elements within the collage and skillfully inserting them into the composition to craft a coherent and engaging narrative that depicts the connection between light and subject matter.
