Preparatory Research and Analysis

My previous definition of interaction: When there is an exchange of actions, such as listening, thinking, and speaking, between participants. During this encounter, they will react to one another and then act based on their reactions. Based on the reading, interaction is defined as “communication between people through art systems.” This definition aligns with mine as there is an exchange of actions between participants to allow something to occur.

An interactive LED Beer Pong table is a fascinating project related to mine. This table has LEDs around, but the main visual is in the middle between the cups. It lights up, displaying various exciting patterns and game-related visuals, such as the score.

Another project is “Music Reactive Floor Lamps” these are Long Led poles that stand from the floor and can be placed anywhere in the room. They react to music similar to what we did during the recent recitation making our LED strip react to the music we played. I think these are both very successful interactive experiences as they use LEDs as the visual/result of the interaction between devices and users. These projects have influenced my work in that I will be doing something similar to where interactions will occur, and then LEDs will be used to show the result of this interaction.
