CIRCUITS:
I. Fade
It seems to be a simple circuit to build, however, I didn’t succeed to make it work at first. With the help of the instructor, I found that I didn’t select the port of Arduino Uno at the tool window. After I corrected my mistake, the circuit worked well.
II. toneMelody
The instructions were really clear, therefore, the circuit worked smoothly after I build it
III. Speed Game
It’s probably the most complicated circuit that I’ve made. However, thanks to the clear diagram, I had no trouble getting the circuit to work.
QUESTIONS:
I. Technology is an inseparable part of our life because it has already appeared everywhere. Technology fulfills our lives, such as lights, air conditioners, etc. The circuits we built in the recitation can also be examples to prove this idea. This first circuit was built to create a fading LED, which always appears in lives. For example, we can see them on the traffic lights on the side of the road, reminding people of when they can pass through the road. The second circuit is a circuit for toneMelody, which will utter the music. We can always see them in convenience stores, such as Family Mart. The third circuit was used to make a speed game, which we can see on various controller games. Furthermore, during this pandemic period, thanks to the technology that can help us to keep on studying without the limitation of distance and time. Therefore, combining the experiences I had on technology, and the knowledge for the book “Physical Computing” that we should not only focus on conveying information but the expression, I came up with my own definition of interaction. In my opinion, interaction the process of two objects’ mutual actions. Moreover, the actions they made should be influential to both of them.
II. To avoid excessive voltage to prevent excessive current so as to achieve the aim of protecting the circuit.
III. If I have 100,000 LEDs of any brightness and color at my disposal, I will use them to make an interactive device, which made the LEDs full of the walls and the floor in one dark room and put and in line. Then, I will put a button beside each LED. The LEDs will shine randomly based on the flow of music. When the LED shines, it needs a man to push the button to turn it off. For one person, he/she will be arranged to manage one area of LEDs, which means this interactive device needs many people to join in, and cooperate together. The reason I want to create this interactive device is that I want more people to realize the importance of teamwork, and enjoy cooperation.
