“A whole is not simply the sum of its parts, but a synergistic whole effect.”

For the first piece, a flower is put in the front of the scenario, near to the audience. And the background shapes are behind the flower showing the depth of field. Instead of presenting the flower itself, or filling in the shape, I emphasized the light and shadow to present the flower’s outline. For the background part, I used pieces of black paper to make up the shape of a sun (circle) and a small mountain (semi-circle leaning on the horizontal line).

For the second piece, it has 4 main icons in the center of the frame. There are also shapes on the bottom and top of it.
