The aliens use visual language which has an annular shape to communicate. This language trait allows them to think in an annular way that there’s no end and start in a sentence. All the information comes together at once. 

The aliens’ physical structure doesn’t allow them to speak orally. Hence the annular language is the solution developed along the way they evolved. As for humans, the condition is different since we can make sounds, and sound is faster in daily life.

In reality, it’s technically hard to travel through the past and future just because one is influenced by a language that doesn’t have a time sequence. But it’s interesting to see how language changes how creatures think and perceive the world.
