Sound Visualization Project – “By the Side of Water”

Although this piece of music is named after one famous quote from Shih Ching(诗经), “所谓伊人，在水之湄(Where’s she I need? On the other side of the water,)” the music is not soft as water. As a post-rock band, Wang Wen(惘闻) powerfully represents the water flowing through dense drum beats and waving of bass sounds.

Since the music combines the feeling of water’s fluidity and rock music’s firmness, I used curved type characters to represent the water ripples, I also used clear straight lines to clip the canvas. The soft and hard feelings collide with as well as lean on each other.
