Circuit 1: Door Bell
Material and theirs functions:
- 1 * Breadboard
- (a solderless experiment of electronic circuit)
- 1 * LM7805 Voltage Regulator
- (Adjust the voltage)
- 1 * Buzzer
- (Used as a sound generator)
- 1 * Push-Button Switch
- 1 * 100 nF (0.1uF) Capacitor
- (Cut off DC, connect AC and prevent low frequency)
- 1 * 12 volt power supply
- Several Jumper Cables (Hook-up Wires)
Steps: I first connect the capacitor with the positive and negative of the power supply, and then connect the voltage regulator with the negative pole of the power supply, and the capacitor and the buzzer in turn. Finally, connect the negative pole of the switch and buzzer with the negative pole of the power supply.
My failure:I found that the voltage regulator has three different interfaces, each of which should correspond to something different on the diagram. I connected port 3 to the negative pole of the power supply before, resulting in an error.
Circuit 2: Lamp
Materials and theirs functions:
- 1 * Breadboard
- 1 * LM7805 Voltage Regulator
- 1 * Push-Button Switch
- 1 * 220 ohm Resistor
- 1 * LED
- 1 * 100 nF (0.1uF) Capacitor
- 1 * 12 volt power supply
- Several Jumper Cables (Hook-up Wires)

Step:Remove the buzzer in the circuit of the above circuit 1 and replace the position of the buzzer with a resistor and the LED
My experience:The current in the middle of the bread board is connected. When two objects are connected, the wire can be omitted and connected directly by this principle.
Circuit 3: Dimmable Lamp
Materials and theirs functions:
- 1 * Breadboard
- 1 * LM7805 Voltage Regulator
- 1 * Push-Button Switch
- 1 * 220 ohm Resistor
- 1 * LED
- 1 * 100 nF (0.1uF) Capacitor
- 1 * 12 volt power supply
- Several Jumper Cables (Hook-up Wires)
- 1 * 10K ohm Variable Resistor (Potentiometer)

Step:A Variable Resistor is connected to the resistor and led in the previous circuit.
Warning: I inserted the variable resistor across the breadboard, causing a short circuit.We should insert it vertically.
Soldering
Question 1:
I do think that the circuits I built include interactivity. In the article The Art of Interactive Design, the author said that interactivity was “a conversation:a cyclic process in which two actors alternately listen, think and speak.” It was the conversation between me and the buzzer, the LED or the variable resistor. Or in the other word, it was the conversation between the switch and these things. Take the buzzer for example, the buzzer listened to the switch and “thought with all the processing power of a single switch,” and spoke by making a sound.As you can see, although it was a low level of interactivity, it indeed existed.
Question 2:
As a form of art, the purpose of interactive art is still to convey ideas and experiences. What is different from the traditional art is that it creates new ideas and forms by using high technology. Interaction design is a kind of human centered design form. Don Norman, a pioneer in this field, once said in an interview that to give others unforgettable interactive experience, we need to pay attention to beauty and emotion, to user experience, and to understand the basic theory of computer. Chinese artist Tang Shengtian has created a new type of “traditional Chinese painting” such as “exploring Penglai on Jingting Lake” by combining sensing technologies such as computer and sensor reaction, light and heat, and interactive design.
